Professional Fine Art Appraisals by Certified Appraiser

The Appraisal Process
A personal property appraisal is conducted for the purpose of assigning value.  The first question you will be asked is to identify why you are asking for an appraisal.

Fair Market Value, the price at which the property would sell between a knowedgeable and willing buyer and a knowledgeable and willing seller, without either party being forced to sell, is often used for Estate Appraisals, Property Dissolution or Division Appraisals, Donation Appraisals, and Damage and Loss Appraisals.

Retail Replacement Value is the method used to provide you with an exact or very similar item if you suffer a full or partial loss of property.  It is the cost it would take to replace an item or items  similar in kind, age, quality, usefulneess, and condition including all associated costs in a short period of time.  Replacement Value is generally used for Insurance Appraisals and prior to moving to assess the value of your items should a claim arise.

Appraisal Process - Your appraiser will start by outlining services to be renderes  and related fees for the type of appraisal you are requesting.  Once you have signed a written letter of agreement, the appraiser will visit to examine the items in person and gather documentation you may have.  Next, the appraiser will research the items and prepare a written appraisal report in keeping with USPAP standards.
